Brown Duck Moutain Loop
Distance : 33.5 miles (loop) Trail : The trail is generally well maintained and well marked with signs Vicinity : High Uintas Wilderness Area, near Duchesne Season : Midsummer to mid-fall. Because of the high elevations, the trails are usually covered with snow from mid-November until July. This is a good hike if you enjoy fishing and want a trip into a high alpine wilderness area. The trail passes nine good fishing lakes, with at least 10, on the side tracks. The route circles Brown Duck Mountain (11,866 ft.), passing through Brown Duck Basin, East Basin, and Squaw Basin. The highest point is at the top of Cleveland Pass. Cleveland Lake is frozen most of the year. The start of the hike is the lakeshore access parking area, next to the Moon Lake Campground.
